the past fifteen years, Samba Mundial participated
in San Francisco Carnaval under the name
Sambão Para O Povo (Samba for the
People). We will celebrate our new
name and our 16th year of Carnaval participation
with our 2008 theme,
“Baía de Todas as Culturas”
(“Bay of All Cultures”).

Samba Mundial's
bateria leader this year is Bradley Hamilton,
our official Regente de Bateria. Luis Dib
and Brad Hamilton have created our 2008 enredo
(theme song). Costumes for this year
were designed by Sandy Del Rio & Aki Ueno
(our 2006 Rahaina de Bateria!). This
year's choreography is being created by Sandy
Del Rio, Sambao's Regenta de Baila and
2001 Rahaina de Bateria.
