ANNOUNCING DAVID (XUXA) WEBSTER'S 5TH ANNUAL "(I WISH I WERE) GOING AWAY PARTY" IN GOLDEN GATE PARK ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2007, FROM NOON TIL DARK!!!

so here's a party invitation for another one of my big parties in golden gate park in a couple weeks on saturday, september 22, 2007.  it will be a potluck barbeque (brazilian style churrasco), with a samba drumming jam/batucada (bring instruments and dirty dancing shoes and join in!), pagode, and lots of fun people -- same scene as my other going away/coming back/whatever parties in the park over the past few years.  last party we had bossa nova, pagode, batucada, maracatu...

NOTE:  THIS IS *NOT* THE SAME LOCATION IN THE PARK WHERE I HAD MY JUNE PARTY.  BUT IT *IS* IN THE SAME PLACE AS MY PARTIES LAST YEAR...

BARBEQUE/BRASILIAN DRUMMING JAM/PAGODE/POTLUCK/PICNIC
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2007
FROM 12:00 NOON UNTIL DARK (8 P.M . OR SO - ?)

AT ELK GLEN PICNIC AREA IN GOLDEN GATE PARK.   it's at martin luther king jr. drive just west of 25th avenue, in the middle of the park on the south side -- near the corner of 25th avenue and lincoln avenue (which runs along the south edge of the park) --  see map at bottom of this message.  there's a little lake across the street from it.  lots of parking available there, and it's very easy to walk to from lincoln, too.

WHAT TO BRING:  POTLUCK FOOD CONTRIBUTION (meat for the grill, veggies, salads, side dishes, snacks, desserts, whatever!).

NOTE:  This party is BYOB -- bring your own bottle.  Please bring whatever beer or beverage that you will be drinking.  (I know most of you are really generous and good about this, but last party we ran out of beer early, and that shouldn't happen if people are doing their part.  Please.)

WHAT I'LL PROVIDE:  barbeques, someone to do the cooking, dishes and forks and cups, a portable bathroom, and a collection of fun, interesting and lovely people -- like you and your friends!

WHAT ELSE TO BRING:  your DRUM, samba-dancing shoes (OR BARE FEET -- it's a grassy meadow), BLANKETS, LAWN CHAIRS, kids, dogs, frisbees, whatever.  if you have a COOLER or FOLDING TABLE or anything else you think would help, please bring it!

DIRECTIONS:  it's in golden gate park in san francisco.  if you go out lincoln avenue (that runs along the south side of the park), turn into the park at the stoplight at the corner of 25th avenue and lincoln.  go the short block to where it ends at the stop sign (that's martin luther king jr. drive).  TURN LEFT at the stop sign, and go a block or so -- you'll see a big picnic area and field on the right, across the street from a pretty little lake.  you'll see the picnic tables, portable bathroom, etc.

here's a map that shows a BLACK BOX WITH A LETTER "A" IN IT at the corner of martin luther king and 25th.  the party site is about a block west (to the left) of the black box/letter A:

aqui vem um convite por mais uma das minhas grandes festas em golden gate park em san francisco no sabado, dia 22 de setembro.

vai ser churrasco, festa americana, batucada de samba, pagode (leva seus instrumentos e sapatos para dancar no chao!!), e uma galera bem bacana -- a mesma esquema das minhas outras festas no parque (com eu ja fiz varias vezes no passado).

"ELK GROVE PICNIC AREA" EM GOLDEN GATE PARK. e na rua martin luther king no parque, um quarterao ao oeste de avenida 25, no meio do parque ao lado sul do parque -- proximo a esquina de avenida 25 e avenida lincoln (que passa ao lado do sul do parque) -- veja o mapa aqui em baixo.  ha uma lagoinha no outro lado da rua do lugar da festa, com bastante estacionamento, e e muito facil chegar a pe da avenida lincoln tambem.
 
OBS:  Isto NAO E' o mesmo lugar da minha festa em junho dois meses atras...mas E' SIM o mesmo lugar onde eu fiz as festas no ano passado!
 
O QUE LEVAR:  UMA CONTRIBUICAO DE COMIDA PARA A FESTA AMERICANA (pode ser carne pela churrasqueira, saladas, legumes, maionese, farofa, petiscos, sobremesas...qualquer coisa!).
NOTE:  Por favor, traga a bebida que voce pretende tomar na festa.  (Eu sei que a maioria de vcs sao muito generosos assim...mas na ultima festa acabou a cerveja muito cedo, e isso nao deve acontecer se cada um faca sua parte!  Por favor.)

O QUE EU VOU OFERECER:  churrasqueiras, um churrasqueiro, copos e pratos e garfos, um banheiro, e uma galera de gente boa, interessante e bonita -- igual a voce e seus amigos!!

TAMBEM LEVA:  seu TAMBOR, sapatos para dancar (ou para tirar e dancar na grama), coberturas para botar no chao, cadeiras, criancas, cachorros, brinqueidos, etc.  se vc tem um isopor, mesa, ou outra coisa para um pique-nique no parque, por favor, leva-la!  (obrigado.)

ONDE ESTA:  e no golden gate park em san francisco.  se voce seguir lincoln avenue (ao lado sul do parque), entra no parque no sinal na esquina de 25 AVENUE.  vai um quarteirao curto, ate o "stop sign" (sinal de parada, onde 25 encontra a rua "martin luther king" (MLK)).  VIRA PRA ESQUERDA na martin luther king, e vai um quarteirao, mais ou menos -- vai ver a area de pique-nique num campo ao seu lado direito, no outro lado da rua de uma lagoinha bonitinha.  vai ver as mesas e churrasqueiras, o banheiro, etc.

aqui esta um mapa que mostra uma CAIXA PRETA COM A LETRA "A" ADENTRO na esquina de martin luther king e avenida 25.  a festa vai ser um quarteirao ao oeste (um pouco a esquerda) da caixa preta/letra A:
