2004 CARNAVAL DAY INFORMATION - Sunday, May 30, 2004

SAMBAO PARA O POVO's parade lineup position is #6 out of 77 total parade contingents.
Our staging set up address is 2615 Bryant street - between 24th and 25th.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
6:00 AM  Floats & Music Truck Staging
8:00 AM  Dancers and Musicians Staging
9:00 AM  Final Check
9:15 AM  Opening Ceremonies
9:30 AM  Start of Parade
10:00 AM KRON Live Telecast 24th & Harrison St.
10:05 AM TELEMUNDO Live Telecase 24th & Folsom

Please arrive on time as the parade starts promptly and they keep it moving due to the televising of the parade.

PARKING/BART: There will be no street parking on Bryant.  Look for parking around Harrison and 16th Streets.  Highly recommended options are carpooling and taking BART (Mission & 24th Street Station).  For BART info, call (650) 992-2278).

PARADE ROUTE:  The parade  runs between 24th and 14th Streets  on Mission Street.  The Judges' Stand is on the east side of Mission St between 19th & 20th Streets.

AFTER THE PARADE:

There is a street fair on Harrison Street between 16th and 22nd Streets, which is fun to enjoy afterward and get some food and drink, as well as listen to more music and see stage shows. http://www.carnavalsf.com/   Please plan on staying as Sambao is performing at 1:00 PM on the 17th & Harrison &Univision/Estero Sol/ Viva Stage.

PERSONAL ITEMS ON DAY OF PARADE:

Sambao will provide water and some snacks at the end of the parade and there should be monitors to pass around water during the parade.

There will be a limited amount of space in the truck for a few personal items.  Please bring only essentials as a few things usually are misplaced. Recommend its are sunscreen and warm clothing for before/after the parade.  For dancers especially, bring safety pins, Band-Aids, needle thread and a comfortable pair of shoes for after the parade.
